The people who use Christian Record's audio library have a critical need. These wonderful people, who are blind or legally blind, have been using Christian Record's library for many years on audio cassette. The National Library Service (NLS) is replacing cassettes with a new digital player that uses a flash memory cartridge.

About 200,000 digital players have already been distributed and the NLS expects to finish distribution in 2012. Support and distribution of cassette players has stopped.
Here is the problem: many of Christian Records library users are no longer able to use cassettes. It is estimated that up to 50% will not be able to use the currently distributed cassettes next year.
For the last three years, Christian Record has been digitizing its library holdings through the generous donations of several individuals. It is now time to release the first batch of book and Christian Record needs cartridges. But Christian Record doesn't have any cartridges.
Each cartridge (including mailer) costs $12.50.
Can you help? Your gift of $125 would buy 10 cartridges. A gift of $1,250 would buy 100 cartridges.
Right now, about 5,500 people depend upon the Christian Record library for inspiration, education, and entertainment. Each week about 2,200 boxes of cassettes are mailed.
Your gift will help keep the audio library current and ensure that those who are blind or visually impaired will continue to be able to benefit from the many inspirational, educational, and uplifting books it contains.
Your gift will make a difference!
