Bibles for the Blind

Visiliy really wants a Bible

Did you know there are over 10 million people in North America who are blind or vision impaired. They can't read God's Word in ordinary print.

They need large print or braille Bibles. Or maybe they can only listen to someone else reading it for them. They want Bible study guides.

Because Christian Record Services is a nonprofit organization, we depend on your tax–deductible gifts from people like you to help us help the blind see Jesus. Your gift, whatever its size, will make a "forever" difference.

These correspondence courses vary in length from 7 lessons to 27 lessons. A six–lesson basic large-print Bible course in Spanish outlines the Bible's steps to eternal life.

Come Alive With Jesus explains spiritual new birth and growth. Large print and Braille.

The Student Magazine

The Student provides adults with Bible study guides for each week of the year. Written by a variety of authors, this study guide encourages personal time with God and His Word. Memory texts and key thoughts from the authors provide an opportunity for spiritual growth.

Published monthly, The Student is furnished free to the blind both in Braille and on cassette. A central topic continues for three months.

The same lessons are published quarterly in 112 pages of large print. Printed by Pacific Press Publishing Association, this edition is sold at Adventist Book Centers throughout North America.

Talking Books

Currently, Christian Record Services releases a modest three talking books per month, or 36 titles per year.

A great many additional books have been narrated and "mastered." But our eager blind listeners must wait until funding allows us to duplicate them and put them into their hands.

Authors include such notables as James Dobson, Max Lucado, and Janette Oke. Reader demand far exceeds supply. You can help produce additional new talking books this year.

Here's how you (and maybe a friend or two) can help:

Library Services

Outright gifts toward audio, large print, and braille books for loan to the blind are wonderful. But an endowment keeps on giving. Think of the difference between a petunia patch that has to be replanted every year, and a rose garden that shares its fragrant blossoms year after year.

Your decision to invest in a library endowment is "a gift that keeps on giving." It can impact the future. It can be a long-lasting tribute to you or someone you love.

President Larry Pitcher invites discussion of your wishes. (Endowments reaching $20,000 may be named in honor of the donor's wish. Smaller endowment gifts become part of a general library endowment.)
